Core tip: As a manufacturer of refractory bricks, we have received a lot of customer phone calls saying, "How many are one refractory brick? What is the weight of wholesale refractory bricks?" Bulk density is determined, and the weight of a ton of refractory brick is determined by its bulk density and quantity.

Density and weight of refractory bricks

As a refractory brick manufacturer, we have received a lot of customer phone calls asking "how many refractory bricks are, and what is the weight of the refractory bricks?" Weight is determined by its bulk density and quantity.

Refractory brick is used in various high temperature equipment. It is subject to physical and chemical pitting and mechanical damage under high temperature conditions, so the performance of refractory materials should meet the following requirements:

       (1) High fire resistance

The heating temperature of modern metallurgy and other industrial furnaces is generally between 1000-1800 ° C. Refractory bricks should not melt easily under high temperature.

       (2) High temperature structure strength

Refractory bricks should not only have a high melting temperature, but also should not undergo softening deformation and collapse under the load of the furnace or other mechanical vibration.

       (3) Good thermal stability

During the operation of metallurgical furnaces and other industrial furnaces, the temperature of each part of the material is uneven due to sudden temperature changes, and stress will be generated inside the masonry, which will cause the structure to crack and peel. Therefore, refractory bricks should have the ability to resist such damage.

       (4) Strong slag resistance

Refractory bricks are often subjected to the chemical corrosion of high temperature slag, metal and dust during use. Therefore, refractory bricks must have the ability to resist high temperature chemical corrosion.

       (5) stable volume at high temperature

During long-term high-temperature use of refractory bricks, the interior of the brick body will cause irrecoverable volume shrinkage or expansion due to crystal transformation, causing damage to the masonry. Therefore, refractory bricks are required to be stable in volume at high temperatures.

       (6) Regular dimensions and small tolerances

Although the brick joints of the masonry are filled with refractory mud, the density and strength are worse than the products, and they are easily eroded during use, so the brick joints are the weak link of the masonry. Therefore, brick joints should be made as small as possible. Only the correct external dimensions can meet the requirements, so the products must not have large distortions, missing edges, chamfers, melting holes and cracks. The dimensional tolerances must meet the requirements. In fact, not all refractory bricks should meet all the above requirements, and refractory bricks should be reasonably selected according to specific conditions.

Of course, the weight of refractory bricks is not as heavy as possible. For example, compared to clay bricks, high-aluminum bricks are higher in fire resistance and body density, but their thermal shock resistance is not. Clay bricks are good, so it's important to choose a suitable refractory brick as professional advice
